The National Bank of Ukraine has revealed the 2018 design of the 20 hryvnia banknote featuring new and up-to-date anti-counterfeit security features.
The new paper banknote will be issued into circulation on 25 September 2018.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is gradually issuing its latest banknote series which began on 2014 with the 100 hryvnia followed by the 500 hryvnia. There are a total of nine denominations in the banknote series.
Around five million 20 hryvnia banknotes will be put into circulation by the central bank, to circulate alongside the current 2003 design.
Security features include an optically variable ink feature displayed on the front of the note, and a tactile feature to aid the visually impaired to recognise the note’s denomination. Other features include an embedded security thread, multi-tone watermark, and level two ultraviolet and infrared features.
