The front of the banknotes are designed using a horizontal theme and contains key security features of wide windowed colourshift thread and De La Rue’s SPARK® Orbital™ optically variable ink feature.
The reverse of the notes are designed vertically and feature different aspects of Hong Kong life.
The HK$1,000 and HK$500 banknotes will begin circulating later this year, with the remaining denominations circulating in 2019 and 2020.
