The European Central Bank (ECB) has unveiled the new €100 and €200 banknote denominations from the Europa euro banknote series.
The new banknotes will enter circulation on 28 May 2019, joining the other denominations of the Europa family consisting of the €5, €10, €20 and €50.
The design of the latest denominations uses similar security features to the other denominations of the family, identified using the “feel, look and tilt” method.
Level 1 security features include a holographic foil (presumed to be KINEGRAM® Review) incorporating an image of a satellite as well as a portrait of Europa. Emerald coloured optically variable ink (presumed to be SPARK®) is used to display the denomination.
