Dell, the third largest PC seller in the world with an annual revenue of around $57 billion, has announced that it will accept Bitcoin payments.
Users will now be able to pay for purchases made online from Dell.com, through a partnership with Bitcoin exchange company, Coinbase.
Dell’s website advises:
“Why is Dell accepting bitcoin? Bitcoin is a new payment option intended to offer even more flexibility for customers. Bitcoin payments can be made easily from anywhere in the world, and offer reduced payment processing costs.”
This move follows other large businesses such as Expedia who now accept Bitcoin, but for the moment such payments will only be available to Dell customers in the USA.
