The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan has revealed the design of the Nu.100 banknote commemorating the first birthday of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey, Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck.
One million of the Bhutan notes are being printed by banknote printers Orell Füssli Security Printing in Switzerland.
The predominantly yellow and orange coloured banknote includes SICPA’s SPARK® Live Truspin optically variable ink feature, as well as an embedded security thread, MicroPerf, an electrotype watermark, see-through register, iridescent ink and intaglio security features.
The Central Bank will issue the new notes later in 2017.
