The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has today issued a new denomination 2,000 som commemorative banknote, celebrating 25 years of independence and the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency.
The main illustration on the front of the Kyrgyz Republic banknote features a monument to the national hero Manas who united the Kyrgyz tribes, whereas the reverse features a tree as a symbol of the life and prosperity of the Kyrgyz people.
It is the first banknote to use the new MOTION® SURFACE micro-optic security thread from Crane Currency.
Other security features include a colour changing hologram, an iridescent stripe, electrotype watermark and see-through register feature displaying the numeral “2000”.
