The CBK has released a promotional video as part of its Sixth banknote issue educational campaign, which is narrated in Arabic:
The new series will be issued into circulation from 29 June 2014.
The banknote series feature ‘iconic and culturally significant buildings’ on the front of the notes, whilst the reverse displays various ‘accomplishments and economic milestones throughout [Kuwait’s] history’.
The Central Bank says that the banknotes have been designed with the visually impaired in mind; notes are larger in size and contain various features to aid those with visual impairments to distinguish between the notes.
The CBK also states that the new banknotes contain the most advanced security measures such as ‘innovative printing processes, color changing features and visual elements that become visible upon tilting the banknote’.
