The Bank of Israel has released the next denomination in its new banknote series, the 200 shekels banknote.
Yesterday, the Bank issued a press release advising that the new 200 denomination was being distributed to the public via commercial banks, ATMs and the Israel Postal Company.
It is the second denomination of the ‘Series C of the New Shekel’ to be released by the bank, following the 50 shekel note released in 2014.
According to the Central Bank, the banknotes of the new series “have advanced standards of security, innovation and accessibility”. The notes are different in both colour and size compared with their predecessors, and incorporate new anti-counterfeit technologies and features to aid the visually impaired.
