The European Central Bank (ECB) is due to unveil the new €10 banknote in January 2014 and is expected to begin circulating later in the year.
To promote the banknote’s security features, the ECB is holding an online competition for all European Union (EU) residents over 18 years old. Participants need to guess 4 of the security features used within the new banknote, as well as guess the number of euro banknotes in circulation in the euro area on 31 December 2013.
The competition will close at midnight CET on 12 January, 2013.
“The euro is the most visible and internationally known symbol of a united Europe. 334 million people use euro banknotes every day. This game is a fun way to remind all of us to take a closer look at them”. Christine Graeff, Director General Communications & Language Services, ECB
