According to local news reports, the Central Bank of Cuba plans to issue new designs of the top three denomination banknotes – the 20, 50 and 100 peso notes.
The new notes will incorporate additional security features to help reduce counterfeiting, notably an additional watermark, and will be dated 2014.
All notes currently in circulation with the previous design will remain legal tender.
