According to local news agencies, China will soon be releasing a new 100 yuan banknote.
The People’s Bank of China, China’s Central Bank, is reportedly planning to release the new banknote in November this year.
The new note will contain improved security features to help combat counterfeit banknotes circulating within the country, which has seen an increase of more than 60% between 2012 and 2014.
The note will include colour changing ink used on the number 100 which will change from gold to green when the note is tilted.
It is said that the Central Bank has designed the new banknote so that it can be more easily identified when processed by vending machines and ATMs.
