A press release from Bank Indonesia details the release of a new 100,000 rupiah banknote issued into circulation.

The release, dated 14th August 2014, announced that the new note will be circulated from 17th August 2014.

There are no major changes with the design compared to the previous version, but it now includes the phrase ““Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia” (the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia) on both the front and reverse of the note. The signature previously provided by a member of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors will now be replaced with that of the Governor of Bank Indonesia and Minister of Finance.
