The Central Bank of Bahamas has launched the third denomination of their CRISP banknote series, the $20 banknote featuring De La Rue’s Active™ thread.

The Central Bank of the Bahamas is gradually issuing their CRISP (Counterfeit Resistant Integrated Security Product) Evolution banknote series, having already issued the 10 dollar denomination in 2016 and the 1 dollar denomination in 2017.
All the denominations have been printed and designed by De La Rue in collaboration with the Central Bank.
As per the previous denominations, the paper $20 banknote features De La Rue’s Active™ security thread, a colour shifting thread incorporating a fine line printing under a lenticular layer. De La Rue’s SPARK® Orbital is used on the front of the note to illustrate a bird.
The design of the note has a predominantly pink colour scheme, and includes illustrations of the first Bahamian Governor-General, Sir Milo B. Butler, on the front of the note. The design on the reverse is positioned vertically, featuring the tower located at Festival Place overlooking the Nassau Harbour. The size of the note continues to be 156mm by 67mm as per the previous version.
Speaking of the new banknote, Central Bank Governor John Rolle said
“We would like to thank De La Rue for partnering with us on the latest banknote in our new series, and for working with our team to create the banknote app and publicity materials for our new $20. We once again are delighted to be showcasing some of the latest security thread technology“.
