MyImage™, a new optically variable security feature has been launched today by De La Rue in partnership with Opalux, a producer of level 1 public recognition security features.
De La Rue and Opalux partnered in October 2017, this is the first in a series of security features planned by the two companies.
MyImage™, launched at the SDW conference that is currently being held in London, is a “unique, highly secure and easy to verify personalisation feature” aimed at identification documents. The product is marketed as a next generation optically variable feature that uses an individual’s personal data including a photograph, date of birth and signature, compatible with a range of polycarbonate identification documents.
The MyImage™ feature, which is produced using existing laser engraving personalisation systems, has been developed using Opalux’s OpalPrint Polycarbonate technology.
Speaking at today’s launch, Product Managing Director for DLR’s Security Features and Identity Portfolio said:
“I am delighted that we are today launching our first security feature as part of our exciting collaboration with Opalux. MyImage™ really is space-age technology that is truly world-leading and continues to keep us ahead of the counterfeiters across our full range of identity documents. This is just the beginning of a fantastic partnership and I look forward to launching other exciting new developments in the future.”
