The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic has issued a commemorative $500 banknote, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the institution.

The banknote uses the same design as the circulating version and includes many of the existing security features such as a latent image, watermark and microtext, but with some differences:
- The colour changing ink feature on the top right of the note’s front is shaped as an icon of the Central Bank building. It contains the numerals “70” and has an optically variable orbital effect when the note is tilted.
- A different windowed security thread is included, with three dimensional optical effects creating movement and a change of colour from gold to green when the note is tilted.
